Director Appointed

Bonham, July 6, 2004 ----  Harvey L. Milton, (L) was sworn in as Fannin SWCD director by county judge Derrell Hall.  Milton was appointed during the June board meeting as a replacement for Roger Dawdy in zone 1. His resignation was a result of his retirement as a farmer in the Allen’s Point Community.     Mr. Dawdy had served on the board for thirteen years. 

Mr. Milton farms in the Silver City and Bug Tussle communities-- between Honey Grove and Ladonia.  His operation consists of grain farming and a cow / calf operation involving about 800 acres. As a result of his continual application of conservation practices over the past several years, he was recognized as Outstanding Conservation Farmer in 2003.
