BRUSH CONTROL AND GRAZING MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
On April 6, a brush control and grazing management workshop was held at the Bonham State Park with approximately 60 in attendance. The workshop was sponsored by the Fannin SWCD, Texas cooperative Extension, Texas Parks and Wildlife and the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Several new brush control machines (skid loaders with various attachments) were demonstrated that are specifically designed to remove cedar and similar trees by cutting them off at or near ground level. Different attachments that can used to remove the trees included tree shears, grinders and cutters. This is a less expensive way to control your brush problem than conventional methods.

During the afternoon session Joe Bendrameni, grazing specialist from The Overton Experiment Station gave landowners some different ideas on how best to manage their livestock for improved forage and livestock health.
