Mary Jane Godwin Selected As Outstanding Conservation District Employee in Texas
The Fannin Soil and Water Conservation District was pleased to announce that Mary Jane Godwin was selected as the Outstanding District Employee for the Zone 5 Area. This area encompasses 52 counties in central and north central Texas.
Mrs. Godwin, a resident of Bonham, Texas, has been working for the Fannin Soil and Water Conservation District for 10 years. Her office is housed in the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service office. She was selected for this honor because of the many things she does to benefit the conservation effort in the Fannin County area.
Seed sales, conservation education, tours, and award programs, tree sales with 4-H kids, watershed program management, and preparation for board meetings and may other activities are what brought this attention to her. On March 24, 2011 the conservation district board and Randy Moore and Steve Deckard with the USDA-NRCS surprised her with this award.
“Natural resource conservation has been greatly benefited because of her efforts,” says Randy Moore, District Conservationist.
